Arriving in Anchorage for shopping, medical appointments, or meetings?

Copper Whale Inn is a cozy retreat from busy days.

Anchorage is known as Alaska’s main headquarters for most of the commerce, governance, and industry the state affords. As a result, this city of nearly 300,000 residents sees a constant coming and going year-round, either through the airports (international and seaplane) or along its few highways.

All of these people need a place to stay overnight, and the Copper Whale Inn experience far exceeds the usual corporate style of the larger hotel options. How do we do that? Read on.

Copper Whale Inn offers a discount for business travelers

State of Alaska employees receive a 10% discount on their stay if they use a State credit card, and our friendly staff are happy to help you set up a corporate account so all employees can take advantage of Copper Whale Inn comfort while on business travel.

Our relaxing atmosphere is just what a busy professional needs

From the moment you arrive at the inn, business travelers can be assured of a serene environment unique from the buzzing cacophony of big hotel chain lobbies. The Copper Whale Inn offers contactless check-in procedures (we text you the front door code before you arrive), which means there’s no queue of waiting guests at a front desk. Make yourself at home in the living room area, with sweeping views of Cook Inlet and endless coffee, tea, and, during the colder months, a hot chocolate bar.

Guest rooms continue this concept of calm with fluffy comforters, locally-made bath products, and the beautiful gardens outside the windows (or scenic snowfall, depending on the season). Feeling the zen, yet? We’re here for you after a full day of business meetings.

The inn’s location is steps from downtown Anchorage offices and restaurants

One of the most popular aspects of the Copper Whale Inn is its access to downtown amenities. From fine dining to museums, performances, and active pursuits, we’re right in the heart of it all. Need some suggestions for where to eat or play in the Anchorage area? Check out our Things to Do page, or ask your innkeeper for their favorites. The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is located just down the hill from the inn, where you can join Anchorage locals for a walk or bike ride along the beautiful Cook Inlet shoreline. Snow City Cafe is famous for breakfast, and Simon and Seafort’s happy hour specials are known far and wide. Make your business trip include some play along with the work!

Breakfast at the Copper Whale means more than cold cereal

Every morning, guests are invited to the living room for a European-style continental breakfast buffet, which includes hard-boiled eggs, smoked salmon, and a variety of cheeses, as well as cereals, breads, yogurt, and fruit. During the summer months, breakfast is served from 6-9 a.m., and in the winter, from 7-9 a.m. When there are few guests, breakfast may be presented as a self-serve option, but we’ll be sure to let you know and provide everything you need to fuel up for the day.

Wifi is fast and offered throughout the buildings

We know you need fast wifi, and we know you need it 24/7, so Copper Whale Inn has boosters throughout the property to ensure this valuable tool is available. Additionally, iPads are provided in every room with important information related to the inn and Anchorage, and are a great way to stay connected to the city’s activities. Each guest room also has a Roku television, so feel free to stream a favorite show using your account.

Ready to take business travel to the next level? Contact the friendly staff at Copper Whale Inn today and set up your corporate account. We’re here to help make work trips more comfortable!

Note: The Copper Whale Inn front desk can be reached by phone throughout the day. Due to the inn’s boutique-style lodging, staff are not always physically present in the office, but someone is always available to assist guests, and the inn's website also has live availability 24 hours a day.
